During the announcement, Gov. Beshear stated: “We are committed to making sure this election will be held in a safe manner while we are in this worldwide health pandemic.” The governor is also working on a plan to safely conduct in-person voting that includes a potential drive-through voting option so Kentuckians who cannot vote by mail can still exercise their constitutional right to vote.

Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear signed a monumental executive order Friday allowing Kentucky’s registered voters to mail-in their ballot for the state’s rescheduled primary election on June 23.
The order is a byproduct of a bipartisan agreement with Republican Secretary of State Michael Adams, and comes weeks after a messy fight in Wisconsin that forced voters to go to the polls, leading several to get sick with the coronavirus.
Beshear and Adams have been in talks for weeks about the best way for Kentuckians to exercise their right to vote amid the outbreak.

WDRB: All Kentucky voters to have vote-by-mail option for June 23 primaries
With COVID-19 concerns lingering, Kentucky’s 3.4 million registered voters will be able to vote by mail in the June 23 elections under a deal between Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear and Republican Secretary of State Michael Adams.
The agreement addresses primary and local option elections, as well as a special contest for the Kentucky State Senate’s 26th District seat that was vacated by the recent retirement of Sen. Ernie Harris.
